Reusable Warm/Cool Brown Rice Kairo Pillow

This natural kairo can be warmed in the microwave and reused.

The warmed brown rice gently conforms to your body, and its steam slowly warms areas prone to stiffness and cold, such as around the eyes, neck, shoulders, and abdomen.⁩

I used to use hot water bottles and adzuki bean kairos, but when I first used a brown rice kairo, I was so moved by the gentle warmth, the perfect fit, and the comfortable weight that I decided to develop this product.

Even more enjoyable when combined with an aroma spray

Use it with your favorite aroma spray depending on your mood and purpose of the day.

Before sleep or when you want to relieve coldness, warm it up and use with Kuromoji Care.
For relaxation, use it warm or cool with Into the Forest.
For cooling down or refreshing tired eyes, we recommend chilling it in the refrigerator and using it with Morning Lake.

・Before bed

It's recommended to warm your eyes and neck. The gentle heat and steam from the brown rice slowly relieve tension, supporting deep sleep.

・Before or during menstruation, or for sensitivity to cold

Gently warming the abdomen, sacrum, and groin area improves overall circulation and can help alleviate menstrual pain and other discomforts. Covering the kairo with a blanket or using it inside your futon will help it stay warm longer, making it a good alternative to a hot water bottle.

・For cooling down after a bath or during a fever

Chilling it in the refrigerator provides a pleasant cool sensation to relieve heat, making it suitable for cooling the eyes after a bath or as an alternative to cooling gel patches during a fever. It's also recommended as a sleep aid in summer.

Made with brown rice grown with Fuji spring water

We use brown rice grown with the rich spring water of Mt. Fuji in Fujiyoshida City, where noi operates. Despite being carefully cultivated, some brown rice was not suitable for sale due to its slightly small size, so we purchased it and upcycled it into a brown rice kairo.

Cover made of regenerated fabric with a focus on feel

The cover is made of recycled cotton for the weft and cupra for the warp. Cupra is a regenerated fiber made from effectively utilizing the fuzz from cotton seeds. Because its fiber surface is round, it has a good feel against the skin, excellent moisture-wicking properties, and is biodegradable.

This fabric was specially woven for us by Watanabe Textile, a textile brand in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, where noi is also based.

The cover is removable and washable.

Handmade sewing work

The inner bag of the brown rice kairo is hand-made one by one with a sewing machine by local mothers who sew in and around Fujiyoshida, the base of noi and a town of weaving.
It is a handcrafted brown rice kairo, carefully made with love.

Simply warm it in the microwave

Place the main body inside the cover and warm it in the microwave before use.

*The heating time may vary depending on the microwave, so please adjust while monitoring the temperature.

*To prevent drying, occasionally heat it with a cup of water.

Precautions for use
・The scent of brown rice will be present for the first few uses. The scent will fade after about 3-4 uses.
・Do not use the automatic heating function of the microwave.
・The cover is removable and washable, but the inner bag containing the brown rice cannot be washed.
・Store away from direct sunlight. If not used for a long period, place it in an airtight bag and store it in the refrigerator. Especially during warm seasons, it is recommended to store it in the refrigerator to prevent insects and mold.

・As each item is manufactured and packaged by hand, it takes 3-4 business days from the time of order to shipping.
