A refreshing blend of summer umami and spearmint

A summer blend that combines summer Kuromoji, which grows wild in the forests of Mount Fuji, spearmint grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers at the foot of Mount Fuji, and organic lemon myrtle.

In summer, Kuromoji is characterized by the refreshing green of its leaves, and gives off a scent that is completely different from that in winter when the leaves have fallen and only the branches remain.

The invigorating scent created by the combination of Kuromoji, the cool feeling of spearmint, and the fresh citrus scent of lemon myrtle is perfect for summer.

The fresh, green scent that releases excess heat is recommended for when you want to refresh yourself, or for mornings when you have an upset stomach or a hangover.

We used summer Kuromoji with its lush green leaves. Summer Kuromoji allows you to enjoy the refreshing green scent of the leaves and the mellow fragrance of the branches, both of which are characteristic of Kuromoji.

Each stalk of Kuromoji is harvested by hand with scissors, slowly dried at low temperature, crushed and blended.

This herbal tea contains six tea bags, allowing you to make up to three brews with one tea bag.

The first brew is enveloped in the fresh aroma of Kuromoji leaves and the green of spearmint, and from the second brew onwards the deep aroma of Kuromoji gradually emerges. Please take your time to enjoy the changing aromas and flavors.

 

On hot days, we also recommend drinking it with ice or cold water.

On hot summer days, we also recommend serving it iced or with water.

After steeping in 100ml of boiling water for 4 minutes, quickly cool with plenty of ice. We recommend drinking after the ice has completely melted.

Only wild Kuromoji grown at the foot of Mt. Fuji is used.

We harvested Kuromoji trees that grow wild in the forests at the foot of Mt. Fuji, at an altitude of 900 to 1100 meters, while pruning them. Kuromoji trees grow robustly in the rich forest soil where sunlight reaches the undergrowth, and where there is a large temperature difference between day and night, enduring the harsh winter cold, giving off a unique fragrance that is both elegant and powerful.

Just as there is a concept of terroir in wine, we want to create a culture of enjoying the unique aroma of each region when it comes to herbal tea, so we only use Kuromoji harvested at the foot of Mount Fuji.

 

Delivering pure fragrance without the use of chainsaws

The plants handled by noi are harvested and cut by hand, one by one, using scissors, without using chainsaws. Using a chainsaw would not only damage the plants, but would also likely result in machine oil staining them, so we carefully observe the condition of each plant to deliver a pure fragrance.

 

Biodegradable tea bags that are kind to your body and return to the soil

The tea bags are made from a fiber material called "Soilon" made from corn starch. This material has been attracting attention in recent years as a safe and reliable new material that does not contain any harmful substances when extracted with hot water.

Furthermore, when buried in the soil, the tea bags are hydrolyzed and then completely decomposed by microorganisms, eventually turning into water and carbon dioxide, which then returns to the soil, making them environmentally friendly.

Pruning and harvesting to enrich the forest

Noi aims to create a relationship between forests and people in which both parties benefit, so they harvest in a way that enriches the forest without exploiting it.

When densely packed trees cover the sky, sunlight cannot reach the forest, undergrowth cannot grow, the ground is exposed, and muddy water flows directly into rivers without soaking in rain, making landslides more likely. Therefore, noi strives to keep the forest as healthy as possible by pruning and harvesting tree branches and leaves so that sunlight can reach the undergrowth as much as possible.

In addition, we observe the forests daily and control the amount of harvest to avoid exploiting the forests, so there is a limit to the number we can produce. Thank you for your understanding.
