The Kuromoji in this product is "winter Kuromoji," harvested only from branches in winter. Winter Kuromoji stores sweetness in its branches in preparation for spring, giving it the strongest and most vibrant citrus aroma of the year. This Kuromoji is hand-harvested branch by branch with scissors, slowly dried at low temperatures, and then crushed and blended.

Linalool, a main component of Kuromoji and Osmanthus, calms the mind and supports restful sleep, making it recommended for relaxation before bedtime. It also promotes circulation and warms the body, so it's good for those concerned about coldness.

A unique characteristic of Kuromoji is that it doesn't develop bitterness or astringency even when left in hot water for a long time. So, when you're in a hurry, you can put a tea bag in a thermos in the morning, pour in hot water, and take your herbal tea with you.

Initially, you'll be enveloped in the splendid scent of Osmanthus, and then the aroma and taste of Kuromoji will gradually become more prominent. When the hot water runs low, add more and enjoy it all day long.

Uses only wild Kuromoji that grows at the foot of Mt. Fuji

We harvested Kuromoji by pruning it as it grew wild in the forests at the foot of Mt. Fuji, at an altitude of 900 to 1100m. The rich forest soil where sunlight reaches the undergrowth, the large temperature difference between day and night, and the severe cold of winter allow the Kuromoji to grow vigorously, emitting a unique aroma that combines elegance and strength.

Just as wine has the concept of terroir, we aim to create a culture where herbal tea can also be enjoyed for its regional aroma, so we only use Kuromoji harvested at the foot of Mt. Fuji.

Osmanthus flowers, cultivated without pesticides, are blended in a unique ratio and packed into tea bags.

Delivering pure aroma without using chainsaws

At noi, from harvesting to cutting, we don't use chainsaws or similar tools for any plants; instead, each step is done by hand with scissors. Using chainsaws can not only damage the plants but also increase the risk of machine oil contaminating them. Therefore, we carefully observe the condition of each plant and deliver a pure aroma.

Body-friendly, biodegradable tea bags that return to the earth

Our tea bags are made from "Soilon," a fiber material derived from corn starch. This material has recently gained attention as a safe and secure new material, as no harmful substances are detected during hot water extraction.

Furthermore, when buried in soil, it undergoes hydrolysis and is then completely decomposed by microorganisms, eventually returning to the earth as water and carbon dioxide, making it an environmentally friendly tea bag.

Pruning and harvesting for a richer forest

noi aims to create a symbiotic relationship between forests and humans. Therefore, we strive to harvest in a way that enriches the forest, rather than exploiting it.

If dense tree branches and leaves cover the sky in a forest, sunlight won't reach the forest floor, undergrowth won't grow, the ground will be exposed, and rainwater won't penetrate but will flow directly into rivers as muddy water, increasing the risk of landslides. To prevent this, noi prunes tree branches and leaves as much as possible during harvesting to allow sunlight to reach the undergrowth, thereby striving to keep the forest healthy.

Furthermore, to avoid exploiting the forest, we monitor the forest daily and control the harvest volume, so the number of products we can manufacture is limited. We appreciate your understanding.
