Kuromoji Hydrosol

This Kuromoji aromatic distillate, born from wild kuromoji growing at the foot of Mt. Fuji, is simply the aromatic distillate obtained when extracting kuromoji essential oil at noi. While a byproduct of essential oil extraction, it is a special drop containing the full power of kuromoji, embodying the plant itself.

This particular aromatic distillate is fresh, obtained by distilling winter kuromoji harvested in mid-March on the very same day. It has been slowly aged to remove the unique scent present immediately after distillation, resulting in a mellow fragrance that enhances the sweetness of kuromoji.

Due to the limited quantity of freshly harvested aromatic distillate, sales will end once supplies run out. We appreciate your understanding.

What is an aromatic distillate?

Aromatic distillate (hydrosol) is an aqueous solution containing aromatic components obtained during the steam distillation of plant essential oils. Unlike essential oils, it is rich in water-soluble aromatic molecules and trace components, offering the mild therapeutic effects of the plant with minimal skin irritation, and can be used directly without dilution. (Please note that trace amounts of essential oil may be present as everything is done by hand. We appreciate your understanding.)

Aromatic distillates have different components depending on the plant. For example, kuromoji contains trace amounts of relaxing components like linalool and 1,8-cineole, and is expected to have antibacterial, calming, and refreshing effects. You can incorporate the power of nature for a wide range of uses, such as room fragrancing and aroma crafting.

Made from wild kuromoji growing at the foot of Mt. Fuji

We harvested only the branches and leaves of wild kuromoji growing in the forests at the foot of Mt. Fuji, at an altitude of 900-1200m, through pruning. Kuromoji that has grown robustly in the rich forest soil, where sunlight reaches the undergrowth, and through the harsh cold of winter, emits a high-quality, powerful aromatic scent.

Steam distilled with Mt. Fuji's spring water

At noi, we use spring water from Mt. Fuji, filtered over many years, for steam distillation. The blessings of Mt. Fuji's spring water and the wild kuromoji that grew in its land are bottled just as they are.

Pure aromatic distillate without preservatives or synthetic fragrances

This kuromoji aromatic distillate contains no additives such as fragrances or preservatives. It is made only from natural ingredients and contains trace amounts of kuromoji essential oil.

・After opening, store in a cool, dark place and use as soon as possible (目安: within 2 months).
